This one was a bit longer but really like the 8th note lines. Likely not getting this up to tempo this week but will continue to work on it. I'll post video later this week.
Blues Walk: Richard Bennett Solo from Lyle Lovett and his Large Band Same as above. :) I like the descending thing over the turnaround. Also, the "get er' done" type of playing that is often required on combat gigs. Next month's transcriptions will be a tad more involved, in length and complexity.
Blues Walk: Andy Laster Sax Solo from Lyle Lovett and his large band Here is the first of 2 solos from this track. I picked these solos because they were short and this New Years Resolution came quite late in the month. I also like solos that get to where they need to go in a limited time. Like big band guitarists of old; they got 4-8 bars to say it all. George Benson is brilliant at this. Anyhow, short and sweet commercial jazz. Lots of diminished in both solos. It also reminds me of living with David Estey on Sydney Street. We listened to this CD a lot.
